USS McCARD

My Dad served some of his reserve naval duty aboard the destroyer DD Robert McCard (DD-822), based out of Tampa. The ship was decommissioned and sold (I think to Ecuador or some other Latin American country) in 1980. Herewith a few shots of the ship. Most of the time I think Dad was the Executive Officer.

The captain in 1979 was Tom Moore, photographed here to the right of my father, seemingly leaning over the bulkhead.

I'm not sure about the following shots, other than both feature my father handling ropes. Looks like they are in a smaller boat, perhaps being launched. The shots comes from 1978. I have no clue who the other crewmen are.
