SOCCER NIGHT

Chimo and I attended the Lady Gamecocks defeat of College of Charleston 2-0. Fun game. Last event together before start of his senior year. We will attend future games, as we both had a great time and the game was fun too.

FIREFLIES NIGHT

Chimo and I attended our first Fireflies baseball game of the season. I've been far more concerned with other things, including following the Gamecocks into the Super Regionals, but had an empty night and with school over for summer, we took advantage. Four rows back right behind home plate. We lost, but a fun night anyway.

USC SOFTBALL

Attended today's game against Marshall University, won by the Gamecocks. Very nice stadium, impressive team (from what I could see), and a really enjoyable atmosphere. Lots of chatter from the teams, songs, a good bit of excitement. Long time since I've been to a softball game, but I think I will return. Plus. . . .Cocky!

JOEY GRADUATES

Today Joey graduated from Flora High, and it was a nice celebration. No one, it seems, observed the request for decorum, but what the heck. I was so proud to see him stride across the stage. Tonight we went to COWBOY'S for Brazilian style dinner. We had a nice time. Herewith a few picks, the last from the restaurant.

JROTC BANQUET

Attended Joey's A. C. Flora senior-year JROTC Dining Out event on Saturday night. Posting here two pics, but might have some more soon.

JIMMY 1972

Here is a rather small shot of me at Camp Flaming Arrow (Florida) in my Scout uniform (Troop 68--Keystone Kampers). I still have the very light hair at this point. I was 12, my first time in a summer camp.

HERE'S LOOKING AT YA

A selfie taken after my court appearance Thursday, concerning wife's nonpayment. Went pretty well, though I was confused a few times. Hadn't seen her in about six years. Somewhat surreal. I'm sure many others have to go through it, but odd for me. I'd say more about the experience, but I doubt most would want to hear it. But, if you can't tell, I am actually smiling in this pic. And last night my eldest boy passed his Eagle Scout Board of Review, which is a great feeling. And also made me think about how old I am getting. Graduation hopefully next.

SCRUFFY SANTA

Yours truly, near the company Christmas tree, looking a bit scruffy. Cheers.

GAMECOCKS VS MISSOURI

Chimo and I were treated to great seats at today's Gamecock game against Mizzou. We came away with a victory in a spirited tilt. The tickets were courtesy of our friend Nate. We also took along our neighbor and Chimo's friend Avi to his first college game. We had a really good time. Herewith a few pics, of the band marching via the Garnet Way and two of us in the stands.

MOTHER'S FINEST

Went to the Mother's Finest concert, and it was packed. Most people I can remember at a Rhythm on the Rooftop event. We were stuck way in the back, near a stinky food caterer and a crowd of cackling concertgoers. I mean, they just wouldn't shut up, trying to outdo the music in their volume. Plus the sound system was not up to the task. We got up and left, but Chimo spied an area with some room closer to the stage and it was much better. In the end I had a really nice time.

BETH & BRAD

My sister Beth and her husband Brad came into town last night and shared a nice fish dinner. A nice time, but too brief. Here are a few pictures.

LIFE SCOUTS

Last night Chimo joined Joey as a pair of Life Scouts at Troop 324. Chimo was formally installed as Senior Patrol Leader. I am very proud of them.

ELLIOT AND THE UNTOUCHABLES

Last night Chimo and I attended the Elliott and the Untouchables concert in West Columbia at the Rhythm on the River series. Beautiful night. Blues is not my favorite music, but it is nice to hear every so often. Big crowd, probably around 500 people, I think. Kathy and Joe Merlette, and his sister Ada, were there. Chimo said he enjoyed the concert. He sat behind me and took this picture.

BOWLING

Haven't been bowling for around thirty years, but hung out and threw the rock a few times with my colleagues at Layman Poupard this last Wednesday. There was a picture of me, thankfully not revealing my athletic prowess or score (dismal, both). Standing behind me is Kevin Kyzer, and sitting is Jacob Booth.

DAD & ME

Visited my Dad at his new home in Tennessee. The place was very nice, though the food . . .not so much. Got to spend a little time with him. He is in great shape.

SHARON & ME

Sharon and me standing in Patriot's Park in Sevierville, I think, during my recent visit with Dad.
