GRANDDAD 1946

A few shots of my granddad, and others, from 1946.

That's my dad walking along with his dad.

I am guessing that these two shots are on some pier on Lake Placid. The darker-headed boy is my father, and the lighter-headed boy is John.

Kibitzing with the boys.

Up in the mountains, most likely northern New York. First one has my dad on the left. I don't know who the man is in the middle. The second shot is of granddad, grandmom, and my dad.

GRANDMOTHER (1944)

My grandmother went out West to Yuma, Arizona, with granddad during part of WWII. Here are some 1944 shots of her.

She is sitting on the end, with the white collars. The other ladies are identified as Mrs. Prete, Mrs. Steptoe, and Mrs. Zor Schmiede.

HAWAII TRIP

During Christmas 1966 my grandparents, Francis and Lillian, came out to visit the family in Hawaii. I think we had moved to the house in Pearl City by then, but it is possible we were still in the condo on Waikiki Beach. These pictures seem to indicate that Dad may have wrangled a special tour of the harbor via official Navy pilot boat. Some nice pictures of a young Dad, in his prime, really getting into his career. He loved Hawaii, and probably never would have left had he been given a choice.

FEENIE GETS MARRIED

Apparently, later in life in 1955, Dad's Great Aunt Feenie (Josephine Sigley) got married to Laurence Ridgley Sperry of Trenton, New Jersey. Here are a couple of pictures, the latter I think from the bridal shower. The tallest woman in the shot is my grandmother Lillian.

LILLIAN (1943)

Some shots of my grandmother Lillian Morley Sigley Tidd, one with my grandad Francis Lasher Tidd, in 1943, middle of WWII. Grandad was trained in truck maintenance and artillery.

GRANDMA AND HER BOYS

A 1941 shot of my grandmother Lillian and her boys, John and Jim. Nice smile on John, but I wonder what Dad is thinking. Still, a nice picture.

Joseph Wright Sigley

I think these two shots are of Joseph Wright Sigley, my great grandfather and father of grandmother Lillian Morley Sigley Tidd. These were taken in 1955, so that would probably make him around 70, but that is just a guess. I didn't get to know him. He apparently had some trouble walking or perhaps had hurt himself, because there are crutches beside him.

GRANDMA AND SISTERS?

Here is a shot of my grandmother in 1930, with the young ladies with her identified as Laura and Agnes. I would guess that they might be Sigleys.

TIDD GRANDPARENTS

Here is a festive picture of my grandparents Francis and Lillian Tidd, younger than I ever remember seeing them, enjoying either Christmas or perhaps New Years, likely early 1950s. It makes me smile. I really loved my grandmother, and I got along most of the the time with granddad, although he could be grouchy at times.

LYDIA OXANA TIDD

My mother was a pretty woman, and Dad was lucky to win her love. Most of the following pics are from the late 1950s, though the final two are from 1969.

Mom with fellow nurses, most likely at the Asylum she worked at.

Christmas 1957

The next two are probably from around 1958, of my mother and grandmother Lillian Tidd during a trip to Annapolis.
